Our staff has assisted ready mix concrete producers, engineers, architects and contractors in developing concrete mix designs using proportioning methods established by the Portland Cement Association and the American Concrete Institute that achieve the desired plastic and hardened concrete properties.


All of our concrete technicians are certified by the American Concrete Institute to assure field testing of plastic concrete is completed in accordance with ASTM procedures. In the field, our technicians maintain open communication with the contractor and ready mix concrete supplier to help assure that the best possible product is provided to the project.


In addition to testing fresh concrete, WGE can test properties of hardened concrete in our concrete laboratory or by using non-destructive test methods on the in-situ concrete. Our knowledgeable staff of engineers and technicians can provide consulting services to determine cause/s of concrete failures such as scaling, aggregate pop outs, cracking, etc.

Services Offered

Our experienced soil technicians will provide professional in-field testing for engineered fill and verification of the soil bearing capacity. In the unfortunate event that difficult soils are encountered during construction or if our subsurface exploration anticipates problem soils, the field technician/s will consult with our engineers to develop a course of action to rectify the situation in a timely manner so that the project can proceed.

Our staff can observe masonry construction to assure practices are in compliance with project specifications and cast the necessary specimens for laboratory testing. Our laboratory is equipped to test compressive strength of mortar or grout cubes, grout prisms and both grouted and ungrouted block prisms.

Qualified personnel are available for observation of shop fabrication and field erection of structural steel.  In addition, we can verify that bolts are correctly installed in accordance with the American Institute of Steel Construction.
